The unofficial precinct by precinct vote tally from Tuesday's Primary Election are posted on the Election Board website.
I have pulled out the Decatur precincts only and added up the total votes cast in our Township in the various races. But first, the overall numbers:
Number of registered voters: 17,385
Total number of ballots cast: 1995 (therefore an 11% turnout)

I could not agree more...
The Primary's are a joke for the most part. I did not know that a school board only ballot even existed until I read this blog and I feel like I am somewhat up on politics. Maybe if more people know this for the next election we can get more voters to the polls for the primary elections. It kind of stinks when you have to go tell your neighbor that has every democrats yard sign possible in their front yard that you would like a republican ballot or vice versa.
I'm glad the word is getting out about the non-partisan ballot.
November would be so much better all around for holding school boards accountable.
Read the mooresville paper sat 5-8-10. sounds like Henson and Collins promised people alot more lies to get them to vote for them, guess they will find out the hard way.
