Subject: Mayor Ballard's Employee Poll Worker Program
Importance: High
City/County Employees:
On November 3, 2009, Marion County voters will go to the polls to participate in a countywide referendum election to vote on whether the Health and Hospital Corporation should improve Wishard at no cost to tax payers. Voters living in Beech Grove and Franklin and Perry township school districts will also participate in separate referenda elections concerning their schools.
Traditionally, 2009 would be an "off-year," meaning there are no regularly scheduled elections; however, state law permits special elections for referenda. Though not a scheduled holiday, the Mayor encourages employees to try to work the polls that day.
Please take a moment to review the attached letter from Mayor Greg Ballard and learn how you can participate in the Employee Poll Worker Program.
Sincerely,
Chris W. Cotterill
Corporation Counsel
