The Indianapolis Public School Board on Tuesday unanimously approved what amounts to a roughly 3 percent raise for Superintendent Eugene White.
Are you kidding me? Have they not heard about the recession? Or the 3.5% budget cutbacks for all K-12 education?
If we truly want to improve education in this state, we MUST look at the outrageous salaries of Administrators, class size, and rubber stamping school boards.

Every government official should have to take at least a 10% pay cut. And they should start making our officials accountable for their jobs. If they are over their budget then a percentage should be taken out of their pay accordingly. Maybe things would change if poor outcomes hit their wallets.
Maybe Eugene Washington will refuse to accept any increase in his hefty salary.
anon 11:11 - If nothing else, it sure would be fun to see one high-ranking government official suggest just that. Then we could watch all the rest of the officials try to explain why it isn't in the community's interest.
Marycatherine - White has already accepted it. They would not have voted for a raise that he had not suggested.
