Free-for-all

There are so many news items I'd like to be blogging on, but the election is looming larger and I haven't the time.

But, that is no reason why you should not comment on those things anyway.

So, let's have another free-for-all.  What's on your mind?

Has anyone heard if the elementary is switching start times for next school year? Anything about the district wide dress code?

Has everyone filled out and returned a bus reservation form for next year? If not, call the school and request one asap. Many kids did not receive. Bus drivers are being let go based on response to this form. Everyone but teachers has to reapply for their job, even if they've had it for 20 years based on a point system that has supposedly been in place all year but not introduced to the employees until this week. Tax referendum is in the works while administrators still get HUGE salaries, vehicles and gas to drive back and forth to work. All out of the township. Tehy don't have to worry about rising taxes. They just take and take and take from the kids and families of the township

Residents are you aware that next year your child will only be able to ride one bus? Suppose a child lives with one parent one month and another parent in the township the next month they are only going to be able to ride one bus to school. The other parent will have to provide their own transportation if they live on another bus route.Your child will not be able to have children ride home with them to stay all night if they do not normally ride that bus.

I have had this on my mind for some time now? I would like to know the truth from our school what is going on with Amanda Jacobs. Things are completely hidden and lips are tight sealed. I am shocked and apauled at what might have been going on. We need answers from our school, especially when this same person was fired previously for being inapropriate with her players. You tell me why in the world would the administration let her come back on as a head coach after she had already been in trouble before? Is that not waiting for trouble to happen? Now, you have two girls whose lives have completely changed! This is sickening and wrong!

For years, Jacobs has been ignorin her students. My kids have complained all the timethat she just sits in the room, texting and sending emails, mostly to softball players. She would take kids out of other classes to talk softball. Many time she just left the room for whole periods. She was supposed to write IEP's for all of her special needs students, and the word is that she didn't do them. She just copied them over and over. She supposedly wrote that she had conferences, but they never happend. Why was she protected all of these years. I heard that she spring breaked in Florida with the head of the school board. My West Newton friends told me that she was at West Newton for hours every day when her kids was going to school there. Where was the administrators???

Pat, Why did you remove the posting about the meeting with Stinson and bus drivers?

anon 8:43 -- I did not. I assumed its author did.

Was Jacobs' reported to the Indiana Department of Education so her license would be cancelled?

Jacobs hasn't been found guilty of anything. She resigned her position and there is a police investigation about harrasing text messages to a student. Fox 59 news reported the school is not doing an investigation. So unless the harrasment case is determined by police and they order her license revoked, she won't lose her teaching license. She hasn't done anything wrong in the schools eyes...they have no policies in place.

OMG! THE LUNATICS ARE RUNNING THE ASYLUM IN TRANSPORTATION DEPT!THEY ARE REALLY RUNNING IN THE RED NEXT YEAR FOR OVER 1 1/2 MILLION.THEIR SOLUTION IS TO DO AWAY WITH 12 BUS ROUTES. THEY JUST HIRED THAT MANY NEW DRIVERS THIS YEAR WHY? THEY WERE IN RED LAST YEAR I THOUGHT.DID THEY NOT JUST BUY 4 NEW TRUCKS FOR EMPLOYEES AND AS ALWAYS TOP OF THE LINE. TOO MANY PEOPLE IN OFFICE AT TRANSPORTATION.
DRIVERS WERE TOLD THEY HAVE TO APPLY FOR THEIR JOBS AND HAVE REFERENCES NEXT YEAR.EXCUSE ME, MOST OF THEM ONLY HAVE ONE REFERENCE, DECATUR TWP.THIS IS JUST STUPIDITY AT THE HIGHEST.DR STINSON WAS HIS USUAL PROFESSIONAL SELF AT MEETING. WHEN QUESTIONED BY DRIVERS ABOUT THE NEW THINGS GOING ON HE TOLD THEM " IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT GET OUT".. THIS IS THE SAME THING BEING TOLD TO SENIOR DRIVERS BY SUSAN ADAMS. THEY ARE HARASSING THE OLDER DRIVERS TO GET THEM TO RETIRE OR QUIT SO THEY CAN SAVE MONEY.THEY ALREADY HAVE ONE FOR SURE AND MAYBE TWO AGE DISCRIMINATION LAWSUIT AGAINST THE TWP. HOW MANY MORE CAN WE AFFORD?

Parents, in case you haven't seen this. New times for school next year.

Middle School 7:10 drop-off-2:40 pick up

High School 8:05 drop-off - 3:35 pick up

Blue Academy,Valley Mills,Liberty, 8:40 drop-off - 3:35 pick-up

Gold Academy ,Stephen Decatur,West Newton
7:45 drop-off - 2:40 pick-up

Gold Academy,Stephen Decatur, West Newton Parents are you aware your small children are going to be standing out in the dark in the winter ?? Some of these routes will start at around 7:00A.M.
What about parents who leave before that, they will be standing out by themselves.

You won't be able to have them get on at a babysitter if you ever need them to get off at home because they are only allowed to ride one bus.

This administration is not family friendly.

Where is this new information regarding school start times posted?

It's almost hillarious to see you people whining about this Administration. You voted them in...and KEEP voting for them. Not one of you goes to a meeting (that's a fact; I know who goes to the meetings and it's none of you). DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. Ready? In 2012...May of 2012...there are 2 school board seats up for election. WATCH FOR WHO IS RUNNING and not only vote for them, but HELP THEM. Don't talk about it DO SOMETHING about it. Volunteer a few hours passing out literature at the election for anyone but the incumbents. Wait....it's easier to gripe about it isn't it. Drama is fun isn't it. Why try something different and better when we can all gripe and complain about it!? Vote for Huffman and Greenwald if you like that. Better yet, don't help or get involved with whoever runs AGAINST them; that's the same as voting for the ones we got in there.

Y'all might not like the tone of Anon's post of May 5 @ 9:03am..

But,they're right. What needs to be done is summarized by the first sentence in the masthead of this blog...

We need to elect good, intelligent, thoughtful people to office.

BTW, Pat Andrews,I voted for you Tuesday;)

Susan Adams has always had a vendetta against the bus drivers. Now she has eliminated Rosie who was the only hope drivers had and given her job to T.J.Whitfield. They are doing everything they can to eliminate older drivers and make everyone so miserable they cannot tolerate the abuse much longer. Drivers just keep losing money.Last year Drivers lost 2-4 hours a day pay.
New Adams, Whitfield Proposals:

1.Drivers will have to apply for jobs next year as new employees which means 30 year drivers may not get a job. They can hire drivers at bottom and pay less or give senior drivers lowest pay if they want a job.

2.Summer Advantage drivers will be picked out of a hat.

BEFORE- Drivers were picked by seniority. Now new drivers will get summer routes and older drivers may get none. This extra money is needed by drivers who have lost the most, the seasoned drivers.

3.Drivers must have bus cleaned for end of year before school is out with no extra pay.

BEFORE- Drivers were given 2 days pay to clean their bus after school is out. believe me it takes 2 days to get immaculate as is required.Pull up seats, wash and wax floors in every nook and cranny.Floors take a long time to wax and dry.Wash interior completely and wax . Wash exterior and wash windows inside and out.
Do all of this before school is out and bus will be messed up before state police inspections.

4.Another slap in the face to drivers, routes will be handed out randomly next year .

BEFORE: When it was necessary for everyone to change routes, they were given out by seniority and top driver picked route first which meant they may be able to get a longer route.[more pay]

The GRIM REAPERS [Stinsons' hatchet men Adams and Whitfield ]
seem to be taking and taking from transportation but why is no one in administration losing anything?
When drivers asked this question they were yelled at to get out if they don't like it. They have an agenda to do away with bus service as we know it. Rumor is they are going to hire ' Miller Transportation ' to take over. Susan Adams told the manager at ABC DAYCARE on Kentucky Av. that there would be no bus service by 2013.
